Osama or Usama?

I've noticed that all the network news channels are now spelling it Usama.
Was Osama too close in spelling to Obama that we might get confused about who got killed?

Not sure about that, but I often expressed concern over the fact that in Microsoft Outlook the spell check always tried to replace "Obama" with "Osama".

The media changed it to Osama back when his name first made headlines - they thought that such an evil person with a name that began with "USA" would be inappropriate, so they went with the Osama alternate.

Fox News was the only one calling him Usama, along with the FBI, and the federal government.
