Do you have a Stratos 201 fish and ski. the passenger side sink down when you take off as I get on plane it will level off. Try and not trim it all the way down. Put a hydraulic steering system on it and it will help.

its not a fish and ski but i do have hydrolic steering....
i'm not that worried about how its plaining out i'm more concerned about why it doesn't turn to the left and how could i fix this....
They make a little wedge looking thing that goes on the skeg that takes some of the torque off while running. it is supposed to help the steering.
was looking at it earlier and don't know waht this piece is or how it could have got turned and i'm not very good at describing stuff but it is above the prop, but below where the motor/lower unit goes over the top of the prop there is a piece that hangs down probably 1/4 inch thick inch and half down and goes back up at an angle.... it is connected to a circle piece that fits in to the part coming above the prop and is bolted in....
hoped that was described well enough that someone will know what i'm talking about and could tell me if i need to center this piece or leave it turned as is... but it is turned to the left <looking at the motor> and i'm assuming every little angle and parts back there matter when running a boat
thats the torque tab. you can try moving it more back towards center, but really when youre on plane, that should be out of the water most of the way anyways. ive never seen it make any difference on mine. a lot of people even take them off.
Try trimming down a little before you try turning?
so i turned the trim tab to center... and now it turns left but i have to stay into the pedal... i was used to driving a fourblade prop on a bullet and now i'm using a three blade prop on a stratos.... heard props make a difference but i didn't know they made that much of one....
thanks for all of you help!!
Hee..Hee! Bob would be proud!! Just keep going right, and soon you will be going left!![]()
Turn trim tab more to the right, front end.Make sure fluid is up in hydraulic steering, generally with hydraulic the trim tab can even be removed.
And you can always go back to a four blade, three blades do produce more felt torque.
