I have a dogwood canyon 6 wt I bought for the express purpose of hiking through the woods and slapping trees and snakes with that has really been through hell. Popped a snake in the head with it two weeks ago as a matter of fact. Hear nice things about the hobbs creek rods as well. Besides the cork and the reel they put with it, not really sure what they think is so different about those two rods anyway. Good luck to ya.
Thanks for the reply. Thinking I just might salvage the rod by putting a "splint" on the top section and then using it as a Nymphing Rod when floating the Cumberland. Just a little back and forth flip-flop rod....just might work?
