Staying at the state park down there over the long weekend and going to fish in the mornings and night (after all the hooligans get off the lake). Have never fished live bait for the browns...any advice? Want to try it for a change and thought of posting up on the flats off the main lake and putting 4-6 rods out at a time. Is that best or maybe drifting?
Dont even know where a bait store is yet but will find out
Thanks in advance--just figured I'd throw it out there and see if anybody has any tips!
keep it at 3 rods while in the boat, including recipricle (sp) waters, the fish are out deeper now for a better chance at livebait, i sit in deep 30's throw into deep 20's....Staying at the state park down there over the long weekend and going to fish in the mornings and night (after all the hooligans get off the lake). Can't add much to that, you heard it from the man. Rick is on a first name basis with the Dale Hollow Smallies. If he ant catching, then he is thinking about catching!!![]()
Thanks guys....
Rick- that website was great. Fish Laurel and Cumberland a lot but not Dale so not sure what to start with. Have heard swimbaits have been the ticket this spring.
....caught quite a few but no real size. 19" was the biggest. most were on crankbaits around dark and jigs during the day.
had a blast!
