Man this purchase of an HDTV has been awesome!! NASCAR, fishing, bball and golf programs has been so dang clear it's scary!! Life is good!
I really notice it on the pull back views of the whole court or a top view while watching bball. Of course the colors of NASCAR blows me away on this dang thing.

Add a 5.1 surround sound setup with speakers behind you...doesn't have to be an expensive one...and listen to NASCAR or sports come to life...
Your sounding alot like that little voice in my head!I been looking at several sound systems and actually thinking of upgrading the downstairs entertainment experience as well.
Surround sound is a must for the HD television viewing...Get one and the only difference from being at the Nascar race is that your seat doesn't shake violently every time they come down in front of ya....Well, that and that one drunk redneck that keeps standing up behind you saying, Hit the wall 24
I think the advent of HD has a lot to do with the increased ratings the NHL has been seeing the past few years. I've been a hockey fan all my life, but one of the main reasons a lot of my friends have told me they don't watch it is they have trouble following the puck, which is very true, but HD makes a HUGE difference in that regard.
You can shake your seats, windows, floors..... with the right subwoofer trust me
DJD if you are thinking about getting a surround sound system I would avoid most of the Home Theather in a Box systems (HTIB), you know the ones that come with everything in it like the receiver, surround speakers, subwoofer.... and put together your own setup. It will cost a little more but it's well worth it in the long run.
Not saying that some of the HTIB systems don't sound good, just that you can spend a little more and get a lot more performance most of the time.
This place http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=88 has more info on home audio speakers, subs, receivers.......... than you could read in a life time. Losts of post about putting together budget based systems that perform very well.
Thanks man. I'm gonna be spending some cash and I do like quality! You can shake your seats, windows, floors..... with the right subwoofer trust me

The best Ive ever heard was a Bose system and it wasnt one of the high end ones either. It was a 5 speaker system and it was very clear with no distortion at high levels. I know it came from Sams Club.
DJD if your intrested in moving you house off it's foundation and you don't like your neighbors you could get this: http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...roducts_id=606 and it only weighs 395 lbs.
No offense Stoner and I'm no pro audiophile but I've been through a few budget surround sound systems myself and listened to a couple of high end systems and for what you pay for a Bose system you can usually put together you own system that would sound much better. jmho
I guess the biggest things to take into account when putting a system together is your listening preferences, your budget and the size of the room. Also if you have a wife or girlfriend you might need to get their approval for the speakers because sticking a big tower speaker or subwoofer in the living room she did the interior desgin on doesn't go over so well sometimes.![]()
