    Re: Ken Dauberts Bass Frogs

i don't know if you have a tough time with your frogs staying in one piece like i do, but z-man's frogs are amazing with the elaztech. i've caught more than 20 bass on a single frog, and for me that is saying a lot, since usually 5 is the max. they are cheap as well, just don't use the zman hook designed for it, they seem to be crap.

You will catch over 20 bass with each set of legs, havnt heard of an actual frog wearing out or going to pieces, some have been in use for years
They arnt soft, dont tear easily, legs may after 20 bass, most likly at contact point where being held against the body.In my case taking them on and off has worn mine more than bass have, one has to be carefull to line up same holes,or one makes more.
But still using first set of skitter legs and about 20 bass off it.4 to a pack but each with a different action, after you develop a favorite possibly may be able order to order just action and number all the same of that favorite.
Mine is the one that looks like a horny toad on steroids or turned and subtle.
Or as it came as a clone.
Doubt if I was getting 3 bass off of horny toads.
It will be in your box a long time long after the others are useless,as legs are replaceable.

    Re: Ken Dauberts Bass Frogs

Took it out for fishing today with paul.

    I would give it a 7/10

we had 4 strikes on it, only landed one.
Its a totally different way of presenting a frog. I cant really say if its more subtle or more aggressive of a presentation, but its extremely different. the Legs work exactly as advertised and gives the most realistic presentation of a frog. We didnt use any other frogs long enough to say it caused more fish to strike as opposed to a different lure style.

The problems with it is the fish needs to literally take in the entire frog or from an adequate angle to set the hook. Its also solid foam... a fish cant squish it. I would have preferred a hollow body as it would give the fish the opportunity to bite down on it and take it in better.

Upon initial impressions I would still prefer my Koeppers frog and likely the Spro as well. But It would sit as my next selection vs other lures to chose from. Its worth getting if you want a frog with a different presentation because its hard to find a frog between the hollow body and the horny toad. I think this one fits that role adequately.
