    Lower unit, again

Just had my lower unit replaced about a month ago from hitting an underwater obstruction....Was almost completely through with the break in period when tonight I'm out fishing and start to sit my boat up on pad and hear that terrible noise of a hub spinning, so I thought.....I trimmed my motor up and be danged if the prop wasnt gone....The prop shaft had broke completely down inside the lower unit....So now the prop and the rest of the prop shaft are laying somewhere out in 30ft...This is really frustrating

It's probably a lot smaller was just kinda irritated....I've literally only had the boat out maybe 7 or 8 times since i've had it back and I've not hit anything for sure....it was obviously bad from the factory because you could see a dark spot in the steel where it was probably weak

    Re: Lower unit, again

had a guy throw an interesting thought at me....he said if you leave the prop loose it will vibrate enough to crack the shaft....maybe the guy who put my lower unit on left the prop a little loose
