A new fly

Gary, thanks for the offer. I am trying to decide if I want to order the material or just order the flies LOL! I am telling you, these things work great. I am going to give it a try at Otter Creek in the morning. Let me know if you want me to field test yours for you. I need a patch that says "Boone Flies, official field tester" or maybe a sponsor jersey!

Might be a bit early for the jersey, as last time I checked with the wife, my fly fishing equates to a NON PROFIT enterprise. HOWEVER, once I read your post, I couldn't wait and jumped on that pattern like a big bird on a snake! Went to the internet, found a pattern and tied up 4 of those using my flash materials.

Tied all on a #10 TMC 8089 hook. On the first, used Polarflash-Silver for the body and wing and Krystal Flash Root Beer for the beard. Photo below.

On the second, I substituted Polarflash Cream for the body. (not a whole lot of difference to my eye) No photo.

and on the third, I used Polarflash -Silver for the body, Krystal Flash Paecock/ pearl for the wing and Monoflash Hot Orange for the beard. No Photo
