    Cumberland 6-4

ran down to somerset to visit friends and get out on water. put in saturday morning at burnside. fogged in for first 45 min of daybreak. pleasantly surprised to see water up (last i looked in 710 range). water temps in the 78-81 range. water clear in rivers but with mild stain on mainlake (mostly due to boat traffic). WOW. all the vegetation that has grown and is now flooded has given cumberland a new personality. caught 8 - no keepers - fished for about 4 hrs only. bluegills are spawning in backs of creeks. lots of bass up and cruising around the new habitat. pretty cool to see this on cland. tons, i mean TONS of little bluegills from last year. looks like the bass fishing at cland is going to get better and better with all the cover and available food. the largemouths should thrive. optimistic about the bass fishing for the future! enjoy!!! btw I spoke with Greg at Bass Pro in Bronston and if you did not know this, his premium fuel is ETHANOL free. yeah it costs more but avoids dealing with expensive repairs in future. i thought this was very thoughtful for us fishing folks. good luck.

Great report. with all the little blegills around, just wonder if they wouldn't make pretty good bait for Stripers if just 15-20 foot behind a board with no weight.

my son uses small gills for stripes on lanier. Its not the prefered bait, but blue back herring are expensive and sometimes scarce.
