Water temps were 85 degrees and we caught a TON flipping along secondary points.

You guys have got me feeling like a little kid on christmas morning. I was hoping someone could tell me if you have to worry about spooking them with the motor. Obviously I wouldnt run right up on them, but how cautious do you need to be?

If you run up too close to a jump from what i have seen the shad and baitfish go down and move to another spot fairly close and start again.

Sure...we were flipping plastics as close to the bank as possible....hogs, wackies, jigs...all were catching fish.

I would just assume troll towards them from about 100 yards out or so, although im not too sure. Whats the best approach if you happen to see them on the other side of the lake where there is some distance between?

Looking forward as it sounds like according to you guys I might get lucky and catch them jumping a few times. Oh I forgot, I will be spending most my time between Iberia and Wax, any luck there?
It's called right place at the right time. They've been jumping down there for as long as I can remember. Some years better than others. Stay as far away as you can yet be prepared to make a long cast. Like someone said earlier a "little george" flies a long ways. Also the blade runners work well my favorite is the "cast master" . Jumps are a hoot if your in the right spot, right time and you can really tear into some fish. Although I don't fish the lake much I did manage to tear into some jumps of "lady fish" off the beach this past week at the Gulf of Mexico. Same principle long cast and I tend to cast past them as not so much into them. Their busting bait and the wounded baits tend to sink so I like my lure coming under them.

7 ft lt action spinning rod, 10/2 braid, pop r or any smaller bait, that outfit will cast 30 yds easily, only draw back, iy yakes too long to fight some of the fiesty fish.
