Here is a link to H.R. 1865's text, which can be summed up by the first line: "To protect the right of individuals to bear arms at water resources development projects administered by the Secretary of the Army, and for other purposes;" meaning COE reservoirs and such. To get this passed, everyone interested needs to contact their Representatives and Senators in the U.S. Congress and show your standing on this resolution.

I sorta resent this post. I consider myself somebody, and there are quite few others who frequent this board.

The Ky fishing board will always be a string of threads that are pretty similar. That's the way Peter and the mods want it, and that's the way it'll be.

It's a bit more fun here flying under the radar.

Re: Concealed carry retrictions on State parks.

I was robbed last year at a very dark boat ramp and since then I carry legal concealed carry on the water. I've been told this was illegal, but by State law it's illegal for them to restrict my carry. Any input? What am I missing here?
You are in a different state than I am but here's what happened to me about 2 months ago. I was sitting on the back porch watching some white cranes on the fish pond. I heard a roar out across the property and looked up just in time to see 9 ATVs, from another part of the county, ripping down the access road. When I stood up they all turned and went across the north side of the property. I got into my SUV and went down a dirt road to the back side and blocked the road so they couldn't get out. I told them they were trespassing on my land, to get out of there or I would have them arrested and I had better never see them again or there would be serious trouble. There was a loudmouth female who didn't like what I said and some guy had to keep pushing her down on the seat behind him. Finally I told him to make her shut her mouth or turn her loose and let her come where I was. He slammed her in the gut and said something to her and she quieted down. I said, "Every one of you had better leave now while you still can," and I opened up the road and let them go. I then turned around and started back to the house when 2 ATVs that were not in that group came facing me and blocked the road. They had met up with the first group and were told about the incident. I hadn't rolled up the driver's side window and one of the guys came and hung over into the car, telling me that I had no right to be on that road. I told him that our family had owned that property since the 1800s, that I now own it, and he couldn't keep me off it. He kept reaching further and further toward me and I think he was planning to hit me. I told him to get his head and hand out of my car and they had better move and let me pass or I would run over them. One of the guys moved but the other one just kept yapping and reaching toward me. I whipped a .357 Magnum out from under my leg and told him to back up or the buzzards would have his guts spread all over the woods. I found an opening and sped off knocking that jerk down and he almost fell under the car.

I called the sheriff and reported the incident and told him that, if that guy came to my house, I was going to shoot first and ask questions later. He said, "You can't do that. Call our office and we will come and take care of it." I told him that I could handle the problem in two seconds and be finished with it before he could get to his car. I didn't even know who the guy was when they blocked the road but I described him and the president of the hunting club told me. When I gave the sheriff his name he told me that they were very familiar with him that he had shot into his grandfather's house and into his uncle's house, who is also a deputy. The uncle shot back and arrested him but apparently he didn't do any time for it. Weapons permit or no permit, I'll take my chances and let a jury decide the outcome.

What you are missing is that the criminals get protection under the law and the victims have to fend for themselves. jmo
