What I'm saying is the Libs as in the party leaders and supporters who want obamy back will do what they do to bash the opponent. The GOP will do the same but as we saw in the last election the GOP wasn't as good at it.
No doubt about it alot of conservatives voted for obamy by buying into his bull about what he will do for the average Joe. As we can see with unemployment and the wars still going on, borders still unsecure, 14 Trillion in debt, Gitmo still open and whatever else he promised that didn't happen... He was full of it!

Romney didn't get the vote, because SOME conservatives didn't know the difference between a mormon and a moron.Clinton lost because of her husband.So the choices were a man approaching senility, and one who probably would benefit by it.Every one knows that these two wars are a major drain on our country, did anyone say to ebd them quickly? No.Border problems, did anyone suggest jail time for employers of illegals? No As far as gitmo, liberate all of them, send them half way to arabia, let them swim the other half. Why did we jail some soldiers for abu ghreb, and praise others for doing the samemn thing?This country has been running for 10 years with light weights at the rudder, and a 5 month change of one house cant cure that. Americans want the borders controlled or closed but as you say the light weights in charge won't do it. They are more concerned about votes than doing anything about it.

Again with the taxes. When did we last have a federal tax increase? I think about 11 yrs ago, sure there were some deductions that were cut, but they didn't affect any major segment of the population.So these "no new taxes" were touted as the way to a booming economy, full employement,For some reason, it seemed to fail in interpretation.Federal bail outs, so far the car companys have either paid back the money, or are almost there.The banks, yes they are paying it back, by charging us interest on the money we are borrowing from them, when we made minimum interest loans to them.Canada, Germany, France, also bailed their auto companys out of trouble.Some day some pol will eventually bring up the only way the federal government can stay in existance is through taxes. No taxes, no FEMA,no military, no agriculture subsidys, in fact very few helpfull programs, like pell grants, student loans, FDIC,with this recent flooding, and storm damage, where did the states turn?

My point on taxes is use them for stuff we can afford instead the gubment gives waaay to much away and what will happen if they don't have enough while facing unprecedented debt?? Obamacare and whatever else they choose to burden us with will result in either new taxes, printing new money (bad) or maybe a real leader that controls spending and starts reducing the debt.
Yes we need taxes. Everyone on this board knows that. I would rather pay some sort of flat tax but a tax none the less.
It does concern me what will happen when I'm 65-70 years old and ready to retire. You are retired and have made your way in life. I hope that my investing, social security money and my plan on paying off other things enables me to travel and fish alot when I'm retired. What happens if as a country we keep borrowing/printing money and supporting illegals who don't pay taxes, letting crooked politicians keep office, just accepting what the politicians do to us as status quo? I can't imagine what it will be like in 20 years.....
Alot of folks talk about our kids-kids paying for the mistakes from our idiotic gubment well I'm gonna be selfish and say I'm worried about it now for me!!
I'm not satisfied that the leaders of this country even gives us a good days work like I do. I feel that if they did and were held accountable (do their job and if they don't get fired) things would change.
I'm not sure the no new taxes era failed. The Reagan years and years after were great because of his way of smaller gubment wasn't it? Wasn't he handed a mess from Carter and his liberal ways? Isn't that mess alot like whats going on now? The country made some huge mistakes with lending and other dumb ideas but I wouldn't blame Reagan and his policies. He wasn't perfect but as an average american I liked his views and I hate the views of Obamy, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Kerry, Biden and on and on.....

Dj I remember the reagan years, they were not that great. When he left office we were in deep debt. If some folks would care to think back on reagans years, they'd know that at least 10 or more of his cabinet or advisors went to prison.And those that claim he broke the iron curtain, they were right, they couldn't keep up with our military spending. The downfall of the USSR, wasn't all Ronny, M. thatcher of england was a hard nosed anti red, and a lowly electrician, and a cardinal from the church, almost dared russia to intervene in that countrys polocies.What dragged them down, is strangling us, military spending, and were not getting any bucks for our bangs.
