Sounds Like Yall Had Fun!
Man I wish the walleye fishing was like it used to be, used to slay em. The started to noticed some amish keeping anything they caught and before you know no more walleye, in the last 4 years Ive maybe caught One that was 16in, Pretty sadd
My hubby said he used to see the same thing happening with the white bass during the runs. He said they kept anything with a head and a tail and now the white bass are all but gone from Green River lake.
Its pretty sad honestly
I guess you think the Amish have caught all the fish! That is kind of funny, being the Amish are the best fishermen in the world or maybe they catch them and you can't.For real there are still plenty of walleyes in green river lake as for the white bass the Amish did not catch them out they all died, ask the Kfw.They are not sure why.Since then they have restocked white bass in green.
Never said it was the total cause, but its pretty bad they kept everything they pulled in as well
Ditto, in fact all the adults and kids would each carry out their limit everyday so they do know how to catch fish. However their sportsmanship does deserve to be questioned. I wonder how the bass populations would hold up if every bass fisherman kept every legal fish up to their legal limit everytime they went fishing? No laws broken but it would devastate the population.

Yea let that happen to the Bass population and see what happens and what people think then, duck and weave!!! I just miss Havin a decent place to walleye fish around here, it was some fun stuff.
Have tried Green River lake many times over the years on the spring for walleye. Not much luck. Done decent in the tailwater late Jan through Feb.
My advice if you want good eye fishing. Head to Brookville lake in Indiana. Have caught more eyes in 2 trips this year than all the attempts on Green combined. First trip paid a guide, http://tagnobbe.com/ , well worth the money for information & Tag put us on fish right away. 1/2 hr longer drive from Louisville, but well worth the time. Make sure to drive 10 mph or less :cool after dark in Indiana. My buddy & I got pinched last trip. Didn't know the law, do now!

Funny you mentioned Brookville Lake, I used to go there ALL the time with my dad, grandparents and dads friends when I was little, we used to have a camping lot somewhere, I dont even remember the name of the place lol. I might just try that for some eyes and bring some memories back.
If the Amish are capable of carrying out their limit and enough for their kids to carry to, why can't you catch them? If they're still catching them the population isn't depleted too bad...I live right here around GRL and hear of guys who walleye fish catching their limits quick....Maybe it's not that the fish aren't there, they may have just moved from where you were used to catching them....Bass do it often, why not walleye
This was a few years back, Idk if they still keep everything caught or if they are still catching them, I just know we had Several Several different spots that were awsome and now cant even catch a fish, pretty weird to meIf the Amish are capable of carrying out their limit and enough for their kids to carry to, why can't you catch them?
