I am trying to find out good places to go Fishing in Bowling Green. I'm a student at WKU, so I know my way around the city but not the Rivers.

I tried The Green River on sunday 6/19/11, at the boils near the bridges in Weldon Peete Park and did ok. ( One large mouth, and a Skip jack)

What would you all recommend? I'm land bound, but I'm willing to walk/wade just about anywhere for a good catch. And I'll fish for what ever, Skips, bass, trout, catfishyou name it.

Thanks
There isn't much inside of Bowling Green, but if you are willing to drive 30-40 min, there are many opportunities. You are definitely limited by being land-bound, but there are several spots you can still fish. Barren dam is an excellent spot, and can really be good with the hybrids at times. Drakes creek and Trammel creek all have smallies, spots, and lms in them. Trammel also stocks trout every month, so that is another option. Jennings creek in Bowling Green is also stocked monthly with trout. Three Springs Park lake in BG is also stocked during the winter months, and has some nice crappie in it, as well as shell cracker, gills, and small bass. Shanty Hollow is an option, but without a small boat, you are very limited. Good luck!
