I got me a decent one at Bass Pro a couple of months ago in their flyfishing department. It was on sale at the time for $5.00. It is string. My landing net however is rubber.

Looking to buy a good dip net. What do you think is the best one out there for under $40?
Rubber type net or string net? Where to buy??
Thanks,
Dave

I got one at dunham's in the mall at b.g. Ky. It's handle slides up to store easy, it's deep, it would handle up to a 30" muskie or cat. Only gave around $20 for it. It's the nylon net, so a crankbait will hang up in it.
I've been using the same Frabill net from Bass Pro for about 8 years now. It has a sliding handle that collapses for easy storage and the netting has a coating to prevent hooks from cathcing in it. I think I paid about $30 for it. Frabill has since improved the net, with a little plastic alignment thing that makes the handle snap into place faster for when you're scrambling to get it ready with a fish coming to the boat.
The rubber ones are neat, but they are around $60+

I think Bass Pro has scaled back there selection of Frabill nets so as to push their own brand, same with Cabelas. You might find a similar Frabill at Wal-Mart since they are carring them too.
