Let me think of others that have been "hacked":
NEW YORK (AP) - Major banks and credit-card issuers Capital One, Barclays Bank, U.S. Bancorp and Citigroup have joined the list of companies warning customers that hackers may have learned their email addresses.

The hackers also gained access to the email addresses of customers of JPMorgan Chase & Co., Best Buy Co., TiVo Inc., Walgreen Co. and Kroger Co.

Sir you should read the second posting by magic he asked for a link!!! I only offered after I was asked, so, respectfully I ask that you read the posts following before making assumptions. Also sir if you are not inclined to use face book then don't click a link - easy as that! But to chastise someone for posting a link is wrong especially when someone else was asking for information on a "Discussion Board". So if I am asked for a link to information I know of then I will share - wherever it may be found, but apparently this information wasn't broadcast anywhere else and those of us who follow our local favorites and use face book were privy to that information.

I have been usingl Facebook for years and I research the privacy issues and I set mine up to protect myself and all information I am willing to share.

So they hacked someone's credit card because of facebook? I give my e-mail address on here all tht time, I believe I even have it set up so people can e-mail me from this web site. You had to use an e-mail address here to get your account. What makes you think this site is more secure than facebook or any other social network?

Some people tend to go overboard with the paranoia. Why not do away with technology in your life completely? Keep all of your cash in a paper sack tucked under your matteress, use an alternate ID instead of your real name. Should be a fool proof method that way.

I guess I don't worry too much about it. Someone stole my identity once, the thief sent me an e-mail. He was very angry because by using my ID his credit score dropped 70 points!

I agree that paranoia is rampant but there are ways to protect yourself, there are identity protection services for the weary technology challenged people.

I agree about the paranoia part like someone said. Hackers hack anything if they get the right info for access I guess. I do know that since I've joined face book I have had more "warning statements" pop up with facebook than any other site I've been to. Matter of fact don't think I've ever had a warning pop up from fishin.com?

Anyone seen the newest edition of Bass Master magazine? There is an article about James Niggemeyer using his boat to protect two people that had been dumped from their own boat and it was about to run them over. He pulled his boat into the path of the errant boat to protect the people in the water (yes it did hit his boat) his marshall jumped into the boat and killed the engine then they rescued the man and his small son. Another thing amazing is he was actually fishing a Elite tourney at the time. Talk about a hero, he has my vote.
