Sweet find. Sounds like these things bring back a lot of fine memories. Glad you found them.

I ran across an old friend tonight. A green cork and maribou popper. It's the first fly I can remember buying when I was a kid. I found it in a box with some old Shakespeare casting reels my Grandpa gave me in 1956. One of the reels was the original "President" which came on a "Wonder Rod" which I also have.
I think I paid about a quarter for that fly at a general store in Zenas, Ind. Funny how you remember certain things. That fly and several others like it, with some "little skunks" and a "Lazy Ike fly", a Heddon rod and a Shakespeare Fly Real, also from Grandpa, were my sum-total fly fishing gear for quite a few years.
That fly sure brought back a lot of memories of fishing on summer evenings on my uncle's farm. I think I'll make a frame for it and hang it over my tying bench. Keep those memories alive.
Sweet find. Sounds like these things bring back a lot of fine memories. Glad you found them.
Sounds like good memories. It is amazing the little things we remember as kids growing up...things that stand out more than anything else.
