Fished Barkley Thursday evening for 4 hours and caught 44 fish, largest bass was a 19 inch smallmouth.
Friday caught 37 fish in 6 hours and Saturday caught 30 fish in 4 hours.
Largest bass was a 6 pound largemouth caught on the main river channel edge.
Caught a few catfish up shallow. The main lure was a tender tube in green pumpkinseed with 1/4 ounce internally weighted tender tube jighead. Most fish were caught in 1-7 feet of water.
The mayfly hatch was brisk Thursday more than later days, and I suspect that with some current drew the fish up shallow. Most fish were caught after 5 pm. Main lake points with rocky shorelines and boulders were most of the action was had. Also caught fish on submerged gravel bars off of points.
This was the best time I have had on Lake Barkley, catching 111 total fish, over 100 of which were bass, in 14 hours of total fishing time. I fish with crushed barbs to make it easier to unhook fish and minimize sore fish mouths.
Good luck everyone,
Don
