I love fishing for catfish and I only use nightcrawlers. While using these, I always catch lots of bluegills and do not keep the smaller ones for obvious reasons. I would like to use them as bait but am unsure of how to go about doing so for a couple of reasons. So, here are my questions.

1. When people talk about using cutbait, which part of the fish do you use? How big are the chunks? Do you just cut it in half and put one half on a hook? Use the heads? Do the bones make a difference? Shoud I cut off the fins?

2. If using the fish live and whole, how big of a weight do you use for a 3 inch bluegill? 6 inch bluegill? Are they weights that move on the line or are they attached and will not slide?
