    Re: Inline spinner problem

As usual, boat hard to start...and it's not the boat..it's me..always me...I gotta get that down pat...always flood it out. Anyway, got on T-ville at 10 this morning and got off it at 3:30. For a solid hour no bites trolling with 3 rods. About 2 turns past horseshoe bend, I caught one hybrid..then two. Then circled back around and caught three more. I drug one for 5 minutes without knowing he was on there. The pole kept acting funny so I looked back and saw it skimming the surface. I caught them on Rooster Tails with a egg sinker in front of it and a swivel, a mister twister 3" shad, and a deep diving crank bait. After no luck for another hour, my boy was bored and we fished for bluegill. Caught 10-12 small ones and I landed 5 10" bass while he was bluegill fishing. Not a real productive day but my boy enjoyed it.

Trolling's not bad b/c you get a decent wind but those slow periods get old.

BTW: this was the first time for me cleaning hybrids and I've heard a lot about trimming off the red meat....but the whole dang filet is red....at least half anyway. Is this typical?

Yah but man you got to get rid of the red meat if not you will puke. it is nasty chzit. I know one guy who like it on there. Iron gut is all i can say.
OOPSS Hijack another thred sorry about that..
But to make it right again try some 14 puond fire line on those spinners . Its good line to use for hybrids any way.

    Re: Inline spinner problem

I use the Vibric Rooster Tails and have had no issues with them. I caught over 200 white bass last yr on the same lure and it still spins fine. Only thing is they cost almost $4 now which is alot for an in-line spinner

You can eliminate a lot of the red if you bleed them out. Put them on a stringer live, cut the gills and put them in the water. When you clean them, keep your knife a 1/4 inch or so above the skin as you cut the meat away. This will leave much of the red on the skin.
