And then her lawyer gets up and talks about the death penalty....His client KILLED her daughter. The lawyer managed to create enough reasonable doubt so this KILLER walks free.
Dirty Tactics. Talking about RAPE and INCEST in your opening statements and then not providing a single iota of evidence to prove it.....

She is going to receive some minimal punishment for lying, maybe a year on each count. She has already been in jail since around 2008 (?) which would be 3 years. They have to give her credit for time served which is, essentially, SHE WALKS FREE.Originally Posted by GeoFisher
Sometimes that can be worse than sitting in jail because she has to face people who know her background and history but she doesn't know them. There are enough psychos out there who wouldn't hesitate to hand her some good old fashioned street justice.

While it's hard to imagine why someone would wait so long to report a little girl missing...and while it seems nuttier than a squirrel turd that she wouldn't be found guilty...
Who am I to judge 12 jurors that spent 6 weeks of their lives away from home hearing evidence on a murder case? They obviously felt a reasonable doubt, based on the evidence they heard...and felt that someone other than her could have killed the little girl. There seemed like a lot of evidence against her, but (1) I didn't pay that much attention, and (2) I wasn't a juror, so it matters not what I think.
Call me crazy, but I'm pretty happy to live in a country where the burden of proof falls on the prosecution. As screwed up as it can be sometimes, I still have more faith in a jury of my peers than a Dictator's Regime who can imprison me for as long as he wants without just cause or a fair trial. Unfortunately, that sometimes means that scum walks free, but they will be judged by a higher power when it really counts.

The system isnt to blame, the jurors arent to blame. If you feel the need to blame somebody, blame the prosecution for blowing a slam dunk case. If you take all emotion, all your media induced hysteria, then I would say these Jurors made a sound decision based on the information they recieved. The prosecutors just flat didnt eliminate all doubt.

Exactly, and I think it's understandable that they couldn't. Ridiculous as her defense was, the prosecution's case was entirely circumstantial. As I understand it, they had NO physical evidence linking Casey to Caylee's death. I'll be interested to see what the jurors have to say, if any of them do talk about it. But I don't think that the not guilty verdict means they believed her outlandish story, OR that they believed or didn't believe the stories about sexual abuse. It just means that when all is said and done, the prosecution hadn't proved their case beyond reasonable doubt.

Don't get me wrong...I sincerely think she killed the little girl and is getting away with it, just like OJ. Too many excuses, stories, and lies not to. Just to clarify, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if a mob beat her down at the grocery store one day, or an asteroid inserted itself in her ass.
BUT, I can at least halfway see why the system played out the way it did...and I do believe that the prosecution swung and missed a cherry that was thrown right across the plate.

So now what? It seems to me like someone, somewhere is guilty of something in this case. Let's say the child did drown in the pool or whatever...isn't there some sort of law against tampering with evidence, tampering or abusing of a corpse, etc? There was duct tape on the child's head wasn't there? So....if it was an accident I wonder why people had to freak out about it and think they had to duct tape the girls head and bury her in the woods? Something's fishy here...2 + 2 does not equal four in this case.

NO DOUBT! The whole scenario is bogus. I think the Mom & Dad are somehow a rat here too...just not sure how. I don't really believe what any of them are selling.
If there was an accident, tragic as it may be, why would you not just call 911 like a normal person and report that your child had drown? Duct tape and hiding the body makes zero sense...none...no matter how you spin it.
Sane people just don't do that. Why freak out unless you had done something wrong?
My Father-In-Law fell off a ladder in my garage and died...turns out he had a pulmonary embolism...It was just he and I working, and I did all I could (CPR) to save him, but couldn't. He was gone in a few seconds. It was the most tragic thing I've ever been through, but not once did I lose the clarity of mind to know that I had to get the authorities on the phone pronto. It was never in question. I called, tore up as I was, explained that he appeared to be dead and that I was trying to revive him. Simple as that. Unless you've done something wrong, nothing other than that should enter your mind. Why would I have duct taped his mouth, hid him in the woods, and waited weeks to report him missing unless foul play had been involved???????
