Broken Rod tip.

Slipped on a rock and broke 3 inches off the top of my graphite fly rod, any one know how or where to fix it? I still have both pieces. And I've still manged to catch a load of bass and bluegill without the tip on. Some advice would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your rod. If you fish a lot things like this will happen. Not sure where tog et it repaired, but you might contact the manufacturer and see if they can help you.

Sorry to hear that Rico...I have had several fly rods fall victim to my river stumbles. The only thing you can really do in that case is either buy a new top guide and epoxy it on the end, contact the manufacturer and hope they can help, or buy a new rod. Good luck!

If you have an old rod tip, or small pieces of one, put some epoxy on it and insert it into each piece of the broken tip. Even a split piece of an old rod will usually work. After it drys, wrap it with rod wrap or fly tying thread and put some polyU or something on the threads. It'll feel different but you'll have a rod. The best bet is sending it to the manufacturer for a new section.

I would just glue a new tip guide on and call it a day. I'd be surprised if you notice any difference. A buddy of mine busted about 6 inches off and I did that on his and it still cast fine. You could tell a bit, but it was better than buying a new rod.
