Getting ready to head to Beshear in a couple of weeks. I've only fished this lake twice and not done very well either time. Keep hearing about a magical black and blue jig - threw it, and nothing. Can anyone give a report? Are they biting well? What's the water temp? Any lure suggestions are always appreciated.

You need to consider that Lake Beshears doesnt have a constant current in it. As a result the fish are usually either some what comatose or 100% turned on with very little action between the two extremes. If you arent catching fish within an hour after launching the boat then our best bet is to load up and come back several hours later in hopes the bite has turned on. Beshears tends to be a very good jig and crankbait lake.
Fished there about a week ago water temp was in the mid 80,s. bite was real slow, biggest fish caught that night was about 3 1/2 lbs.
