    Navonics chip advice

I recently bought a hummingbird GPS/fishfinder that is navonics compatible. I am looking at purchasing the hot maps platinum chip in the next few days. How does that chip perform on Green, Barren,Rough and Nolin. I want to see the detailed contour lines and want the chip to be accurate. For 150.00 dollars I want it to be worth the investment. I have seen mixed reviews but nothing for this area. I will be purchasing the east edition. Any help will be appreciated.

are you buying the chip used? i bought the premium chip and paid 150.00 and its a step under the platinum chip. ive got the 788 ci and the map takes pretty near the whole screen and shows about a half inch of the sonar readings, which i dont like, but the map itself looks is pretty nice and is easy to see the depth changes.ive only used it on green one time and put it back in its package for the reason above. i got it this past march and im selling it for 85.00. let me know if your interested.

I had bought the map bundle and I can say i was very unpleased then for some reason my unit lost the maps??? So I bought the platinum Navionics 2010 chip and I absolutely positively love it!!! I seriously was bummed with my bird till then - now I love it. Now mind you I'm on KY/Barkley but I just wanted to tell you my experience....JMHO

Unless they have upgraded green is not considered a HD lake so its in 5 foot intervals. But Cumberland and barren show 1 foot intervals. Not sure bout rough and nolin

On my 1197 you can change the size of the split screens.....not sure if the 788 is the same or not though

    Re: Navonics chip advice

Rough, Nolin, Green and Barren are all in HD now. Get the Navionics Premium and not the Platinum for $200. There are extra features on the Platinum but from what I hear they are not worth the money. The maps are the same on both. If you get a used one make sure it has those lakes on HD an older one might not have them.

Thanks for all of the input. I will probably go with the premium 2010. I used the link and saw all the lakes I needed in HD. Thank you all again for the advice and help.
