    Cumberland advice

I know, I know. I should probably avoid Cumberland but my wife wants to go down Sat night and stay on a friends house boat. I plan on going out that night and fish for a while. I'll be near jamestown. I have been on cumberland twice in my life to bass fish. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

To avoid boat traffic and party people, try the creeks right behind Jamestown Dock, Clifty and Greasey and Pumpkin Creek. 2nd best, a little farther up, leave marina, thru left, and head straight for the creek you can see on your left. That is Lilly creek. You can try Caney creek, but go better then 1/2 way up.

I'd avoid Wolfe Creek, 2 major marinas. I'd avoid main lake.

Tons of little coves on the way to the dam on either side of the lake that will be quieter, but areas above will be closer to you.

Next best advice. Hit it early in the AM, say at 500 and quit at about 10 am. The drunks sleep in late. I try to avoid the late afternoon and evenings because folks start knocking back brews around 2-3pm, and by the time the sun goes down, you never know what condition the driver of the boat headed your way is in.

    Be careful, and hook-em up!

    Re: Cumberland advice

For a change of pace try using the biggest gizzard shad from the head of the creek's or large Bluegill's, 6inch plus creek chub's etc. for some nice size FlatHeads and "KEEPER SIZE" stripers in 30 to 50 ft. water. Do not use small shiners, alewives etc. at this time of year.
