You get the permit at the lake. There is an older man who sits at the ramp in the mornings and will check if you have a sticker on your boat or whatever. If not you pay him and he will give you one. As far as fishing goes, there are some big bass in there. Me and my brother went up there one day and whooped them. Probably caught a 5 fish 22-23lb string. That year the fishing was awesome every time. The water was cloudy and fish were shallow and easy to catch on jigs and stuff. Every year after that it hasnt been the same, the water was more clear and fishing was tough. I'd also see alot of dead fish, like 5lbers floating around and they all had the same thing where it looked like the scales were falling off. I really think some disease went through there and messed it up. I don't see how you go from catching 30 bass every trip to 2. Its always been a good panfish lake to, but I dont even bother with it anymore. Not worth the 25 dollars to me unless I'm catching 3-5lbers
This lake is supposed to be a gem of a panfish lake, I've fished it several times in the last two years. We've caught some nice redear and bluegill, haven't been down yet this year though.
I hope it's not shut down, was going to try and get down there in Sept.
