Are you talking about jacobsen park lake in Lexington?
yes, the one in lexington
could the tips be for catfish or bass please? or maybe crappie? ive caught all these species there
...all ive got is good luck with the heat and getting caught up in everyones lines..
wow thats not helping... suggest some lures?
ps check out my greenbo lake page I NEED TIPS A.S.A.P.
Brandon has a point! Jacobson is about the only place in town where the public can fish. Many a time it's shoulder-to-shoulder out there, mostly with the casual fishermen, which also means that there will be plenty trash left behind.
For crappie I like using the popeyes under a cigar float. Bluegill chow on anything small enough and I've also pulled in some small bass, crappie and other fish on both Bitsy Minnows and Rebel Crawfish crankbaits.
DAVE
my suggestion- dont go.
but there are lakes around such as Lake reba- its pretty close and there are some good sized bass. There are the FINS program- they have a couple of ponds in Georgetown. Hickman creek, Silver creek, and slate creek are also all wadable, you just run the risk of pissing people off because you are technically on THEIR land, now a small boat of types that you can pick up for little of nothing would be you best bet then you can go to alot of the smaller lakes that are close- Wilgreen, Reba, Boltz, Elmer Davis, Beaver lake, Corinth, Kincaid, Carinco... really the options are endless.
I know how it feels to be boatless- i didnt have one until about 2 years ago, your best bet is to talk to people and see if any have farm ponds and fish those until you can get a boat, or find someone in a small fishing club that does tournaments and you can fish with them until you get one.
thanks brandon. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE give me tips on greenbo lake?
Jacobson is a sleeper if you can get on em. Caught 28 keepers there in 2 hours a few springs ago off a chatterbait. Several over 3 1/2. I went a week ago and caught 4 off a spinning outfit, very small weight with a #2 hook and a 2 inch tube around Richmond road throwing around the banks. One was around 2 1/2lbs very healthy with the black blotches on it like you would see in KY lake or down in Dale. They are there I have seen them over 6 spawning in the golf pond before.
