That's part of the solution. But cutting spending won't fix the deficit all by itself, it's just too big. So yes, "raising revenue" has to be the other half of the solution, or else, as they said in Blazing Saddles, "we're just @#$%ing off." And if the Republicans really cared about reducing the deficit, and weren't more concerned with placating their voting base, they'd admit that.
