catfishing in kentucky

does anyone have tips on catfishing in ky? locations, bait, recipies for bait would be great

I'm no catfisherman, but from what I've heard its hard to be cut-bait....skipjack or shad. I have also heard that live bluegills will take cats, especially flat heads. For channel cats, I have used livers, crawlers, and gizzards powdered in cherry cool-aid with great success. The Ohio is crawling with cats, as well as Rough, Nolin, and Malone lakes. Good luck!

I bottom fish with nightcrawlers on KY Lake. I catch either bluegills, shellcrackers or catfish. Not much to it except cast and relax.

I read that for flatheads over 5lbs, 97% want cutbait/fish like shad or live gills. Read this in a catfish book where they disected many flatheads from Oklahoma. I have had good luck fishing Dix river below Herrington at Rankins bottom but dont know if you can get down there anymore or not. Big channel cats and flatheads and drums. Livers and crawlers and cutbait is all I have ever used.
