They way I understood it, GT got in all that trouble for not helping in the investigation. They apparently tried to hinder the investigation and are now paying the price. Still not fair.

In 2009, Georgia Tech football won the ACC and went to the Orange Bowl. They had a receiver on the team that took $312 worth of clothes from a former GT player who happened to work for an agent. The NCAA put GT on 4 years probation, $100,000 fine and forfeit all games from 2009 schedule. If $312 worth of improper benefits by 1 player gets this, then Ohio State should get the Death Penalty. The absolute most inconsistent ruling body is the NCAA rules committee.
