How about a couple of bonehead things I have seen that were very COSTLY

I had night fished Cumberland back in 2003 one Friday night. I was taking out the next morning as the Ohio Joyboating Navy was launching. The courtesy dock was full and I was buying my time watching the 4-6 lane reverse Indy 500 was taking place on the ramp. There was this monster wave creator backing ever so gently down the ramp then up then down at an angle then up then down a bit more then up as the guy in the boat is giving his wife behind the wheel directions. Mind you this is a Diesel Dually truck in dire need of a better muffler as well. He is getting madder and she past mad about 5 minutes ago. Finally in the water and he tries to fire her up. It is not going so well and the guy in the boat is getting hotter and hotter. He finally gets it started and is giving it hell to warm up the motor. He puts it in gear but it won't come off the trailer. He gives it more gas but no dice. The guy launching next to him asked him if he unhooked his boat straps? To which the guy in the boat to him to mind his own **** business. He was now yelling for his wife to back the boat in deeper so he could get the boat off the trailer. The problem was with him hammering on the boat in reverse and the Diesel motor running she could not hear him. He finally yelled loud enough with the following "Bi***, I said back up" which she heard LOUD AND CLEAR. She put it in Drive and gunned it and never let off until she stopped in the parking lot. The problem was that he had the motor trimmed all the way down and in gear giving it throttle. Pretty funny watching the motor parts flying all over the ramp with Diesel engine smoke bellowing. By the way, he had not removed the boat straps. I looked at the guy in the boat next to me and said "that's gonna be a long cold ride back to the buckeye state". He said he would love to be in the backseat listening to the "discussion"

A couple of years ago in December I was putting in at Holly Creek on Dale Hollow. I had launched and parked and was walking down to the boat as another boat pulled up. They were getting the boat ready to launch right at the top of the ramp. I got in my boat and was bundling up for the ride to my honey hole as they started backing down the ramp as I was idling away and I then hear what sounds like a train wreck over my shoulders. I look back and the nice white Triton is sitting on the ramp a good 10 feet from the waters edge. I turn around and the guy gets out of the truck and looks at his buddy in the boat, throws up his arms and says what the hell happened. His buddy says I don't know I was on the trailer now I am not. I asked was anybody hurt and the guy in the boat, with a sense of humor, says just Myrtle. I did not see a woman and said who is Myrtle to which he said it was his boat. I said you boys fished yesterday didn't you? They said yes. I told them to feel their bunk boards to which they said they were solid ice. I told them that there guys that worked at the marina would be there in a bit. They said thanks. O offered them to go fishing with me but they declined. Keep that front wench strap on your boat when backing down the ramp ESPECIALLY in the winter
