He may be an awesome caddy, but Tiger Woods made Steve Williams....He made some serious coin every time Mr. Woods' hoisted a trophy. It's a shame if a friendship was lost, but I don't feel sorry for him. Williams has what I call "F-You Money." He has enough money to say "F-You" and walk away at any time, no scratch off his posterior. He'll continue to be a good caddy for some other golfers, make some more cash, riding his history with Woods.
I agree that it may be the mental side of golf that has Woods all knotted up. His addiction to Vitamin-V, busted up marriage, the entire world looking at his every move for awhile...huge mental roadblocks there. I also feel like he probably was on some juice. BUT, his swing was so physical, so powerful...people were saying a few years back that they wondered how his body would hold up to that kind of uber-repetitive and pounding stress. Do you realize how many swings of the golf club he probably made every day? I mean, he probably slept with his 9-iron...may have even had sex with it, or some heavy petting at a minimum, considering his addiction. Him breaking down is not a huge surprise to me, just didn't expect it at this age. A combination of mental distractions, possibly coming down off some juice, and the physical toll of what he put his body through may all be contributing factors to the fall of Tiger...
BUT...
I still say he has a comeback in him. Give him a couple of years out of the limelight. He is liable to roar back and make up for his leave of absence.
PS. I think he's a douche bag, but I can't discount the talent he showed, the wins, and the magical shot making ability. He may have been juiced, but golf is more about finesse and the space between your ears than raw power.
