    Re: Big Hammer Swimbaits

Thanks for all the help, guys.
That is exactly the kind of info I was looking for.
I am interested in trying them out at Rough and Patoka.
Now my search is narrowed and I can confidently purchase some proven sizes and colors that I can attempt to gain confidence with.
I will probably pick a couple of days and take only the BH's to the lake, forcing myself to keep throwing them. Just reading your reviews gives me great confidence in them already, though.
    Thanks again.

I bought them on recommendation from a friend/guide at Dale Hollow and had no luck there but have used them since and the fish crush them. The only problem I have with them is they are not very effective in weeds due to the open hook.

Zoom Flukes has Flukes with a swim bait tail; I have found these to be very effective also. And the benefit of these is you can rig them texposed with a wide gap weighted hook.

Don't do that - find the fish first with what you know works, then swap over to gain the confidence you need.

Setting the hook with the BH is a bit different - you have to let the fish take it and load the rod up before setting the hook, or you'll pull it out of his mouth.
