The smallies are more than willing to take a topwater if it's a little bit cloudy. Nothing more fun than catching smallie on topwater. They'll smack it and leap 4 ft in the air!

As for sunny days, I had better luck with the largemouth than the smallmouth. The largemouth were up shallow, in the grass. I caught some really nice ones with a Spro Bronze-eye over the grass beds. Spinnerbaits worked good as well. Lots of spotted bass in with them too.

Transition time at Dale from what I have experienced. Night bite is slowing down. I have trouble with the day bite this time of year so I usually wait until Mid to late Nov when the water cools down more.
