When society gets complacent and simply TAKES what our beloved government spews out....we find ourselves in the predicament we're in. I don't consider the crap we talk about arguing....RATHER, I consider it very, very important discourse. Necessary for the success of our republic.

Hell the stuff we talk and fight about is nothing compared to what folks in the past have talked and fought about.

I'm opinionated YES.........foolish........debatable.

When you stop talking about it........you become a sheep, which is what most of our current politicians on both sides want.........I'm NO SHEEP.

Alot of words/name calling flying around this site here lately, don't know how intentional it is, but stuff like Liar and Fool can fire some people up, just sayin. I'm with George if you don't want to talk about it then don't. If you feel passinate about it.... then do, but don't belittle those that like it or want to, just my two cents.

What I love about this site, and in particular the OT board.......

In one thread someone might agree with me (mhall) and then in another thread, he completely HAMMERS me on something I said.......and he's right to a certain extent.

But bottom line........that discourse is instrumental to our democracy.

I'm glad Peter continues to allow this on this site...........It never gets out of control, and least to an extent to where people are verbally pounding others........

And for the most part, I'd still go fishin with pretty much anyone on the site, and probably would NEVER talk politics........ .

Hell Flylie. George and I are about as far apart as possible in our politics however we do agree on some issues and I would take him fishin with me if for no other reason to try and convert him or shove him outa the boat. LOL

Naw you just have to learn to take everything with a grain of salt. Who actually gives two hoots about what people say on here? Really, it's just opinions and a few facts here and there...

Some folks in the past would get so worked up they would get themselves banned from the site. Funny how most of them were Liberals...I'm just sayin.
