would be better if it would just quit and not start back,the opticle eye is known to go out on those motors but with it doing that way your just lucky if you guess what part it is.very expensive swapping parts.shops have an ignition anylizer to work on them,brp shop manual for that motor would be a minimum to try and fix it.i would start chasing wires down and remove,clean grounds check for bad wires etc.could be losing power through the ignition switch,hook another control box to it if you can borrow one,i have one if your close to me.do you have a box or flush mount with the seperate key switch with the lanyard that you have to push down and snap on the switch?these are a pain,i switched mine to a seperate kill.since you say you're losing spark and it quits that quick i would doubt a fuel problem.i will be at rough river this next week not sure what days yet,tues for sure,if you want to try the control box.
