No one should make 70K pushing a broom (btw, this isn't the case most of the time, you know...)...and nobody making millions from corporate earnings should pay less of a percentage into the "pot" than someone who works to struggle through life feeding his family.

Then we need to rethink NAFTA and other trade agreements of imported materials that could be made here and encourage America to rebuild itself from the inside out...maybe it'll be an economic stimulus to buying American made products and stimulate the economy. People on here bash politicians for not taxing big businesses...its the big businesses and other lobbyists in collusion with BOTH parties that dictate our government and swell it to beyond its natural economic carrying capacity. I agree spending has to be reigned in responsibly. To not raise taxes on big businesses in fear of them taking jobs overseas is definitely not as big of threat as having the foundation fall out beneath this country. Factors such as minimum wages and regulations (including environmental ones that protect resources we love like hunting and fishing) drive off more "big job" industries that used to be more abundant here in the USA than tax hikes ever will. You guys can blame the obamunists (aka anyone who isn't ultra conservative across the board) all you want, but someone said it best when he said both parties are to blame here.

Ah coombro! its your fault, I wasn't going to go ninto past presidents, BUT NAFTA was Ronnies [or the folks who owned him}idea. So how did Ronnie manage to have a 9.7 unemployment rate in his second and third year in office? How many of his cabinet members were accused of lying to congress?Iraq attacked and killed american sailors, but apologized. Marines in Lebanon were slaughtered. So what did we do? Mined a harbor in Nicaragua.Oh forgot, we did win a war,it was Grenada.

sounds like you have a good memory, did you forget. " trickle down economics " after 30 plus years of the money from the rich trickling down to the poor, one would think the poor should start reaping some benefits by now.

I liked Ron Paul but he didn't make the final cut. Wound up a libertarian, in other words my vote would have been wasted.

Reagan was BETTER than the opposition.......

I hope those who threw away their vote this past time, or didn't vote, or voted because it was "time" have LEARNED their lesson.

I am counting on some real HOPE and CHANGE.

    Later,

    Geo

I have to grudgingly agree with you there. Mondale was to liberal for me, but he did acknowlege that woman do vote, and are capable of the highest office[some of them]Dukakis was just a lark. The one thing all of realaize, is the media is going to always scrutinize any candidate. Why anyone would want to run for an office, only to be watched for even the slightest character flaw.We desperatly need, and have neded for some time, a real third party, that would help, but what we need is for a sense of integrity, honor and ethics. That is disapearing at an alarming rate in this country. This is america, we are one coutry not 50. we should have one language, and freedom FROM religious. We should value our future generations, not hinder them. And special intrest lobbying should be severly limited. While every american has the right to petition congress, its the sound BIG money is the only voice listened to today

I agree with you there...........but I will go even further for my heathen friends out there.......because I think heathens can UNDERSTAND why........

While I've always believed that strong Christian values are important. Any moral, ethical VALUES would be acceptable and a STEP UP from the "value" systems we're teaching folks today.

Anyone who thinks that the stuff we see on tv, the movies, the clothing, the death and destruction in video games, etc, etc, etc, doesn't have an impact on young folks......well I think you're wrong.

Things that used to be common place in society like Morality ,Ethics Honesty......have been missing for a long long time.

Look at who our kids emulate. Whiny football and basketball players who get millions of dollars to play a game. Or rap artists who have filthy, filthy lyrics.....Look at the TV shows.......Glee, 90210, Charmed, Twilight, Bachelor, Bachelorette, Jersey Shore......everything ON MTV or VH1.....

If that crap is what our kids think is "normal" we are going to need a LOT of help.

There are so many things WRONG with our current society, that maybe we are destined for failure...
