The fishing was a bust. I put the canoe in at the state park ramp at first light, and went back into some of the coves/creeks, couldn't get any hits. Around 9 a.m. a breeze got stirred up, and my canoe may as well have been a sailboat. I gave it up and went back to the ramp. I could see lots of snails on the lake bed around the ramp, so I got some red-worms to try and get some shellcrackers. The only fish I got were dinks not even as long as my finger.
I found out that the dam and tailwaters is in TN, and I didn't feel like buying a TN license.
Oh, well. The weather was sunny and beautiful. I went for a hike and ended up crossing the line into Tennessee. Saw a herd of turkeys with poults. All in all, it was better than staying home and going to work.
