Does anyone know if it is ok to charge your cranking battery right on the motor itself. The red and black from the battery goes to the altenator on the outboard motor so why can't I just hook my charger up there? Just bought this boat and the cranking battery is hard to get to as it is under a extended platform built by the previous owner. Any advice would be appreciated.

I bought one of those on board chargers, used, all you need is a "1 bank"
charger, as they are just for 1 battery. I charge mine before an "all night tourn. And after, then i keep it hooked up during the winter... Tr
