When I've fished for Catfish at T-ville .... I've cast netted Shad, cut them in half, and fished them below a slipfloat at about 6' ~
Like HBob ... I launch out of Settlers, make the right hand turn towards the dam ... but, instead of the "hump" area, I tie up to the standing trees in the coves along the bank to the left (as you turn to the right towards the dam) and cast out towards the main lake/hump. I've caught good "eater" Channel Cats, doing that (in the distant past).
Now, I will admit that I was not fishing for any Catfish over the 4-5lb range ... just for some "eater" size fish in the 2-4lb range.
