We just fished the standard texas rig. Didnt seem like the bait mattered much. Caught them on 3" tubes all the way up tp 12" worms. We did stay out on the main lake or main River channel. Oh caught them on a single colorado blade spinnerbait too, just no keepers on it. For the lady friend, just put a light sinker and a 6" culytail worm and she will have a ball.
