What's up with the Aug. stockings?
Here it is, Aug. 4th...and still the Aug. stockings have not been posted on the KDFWR website. Don't toy with me like that KDFWR!

This will mean a lot of extra little fish in the CR and if we're lucky some extras for the other tailwaters. Maybe some more brown for Otter Creek? Eh? Wouldn't that be great?

The feds stock about 500 or so twice a year in the creek on Ft. Knox. I had heard KDFWR would put some in on their stretch because they have a higher survival rate than the rainbows but I also heard that might not happen the first year. But if it stays hot they have to go somewhere.

According to Charlie Logsdon at Otter Creek there are no plans to stock the recreation area with browns. I really wish they would though.

I knew in my heart it couldn't be true. Too good and all. Didn't the browns used to hold over fairly well in there? Intuitively you'd think they would be better than rainbows right? I've only heard stories.

I don't know if they ever stocked browns in the park or not. I have never caught a brown there personally, so I don't know. I think the browns would do well there. The water stays relatively cool, heck there are still trout there and they haven't stocked in the ORA since June! I think we should talk to Charlie and some folks at KDFWR and see if we can't get a stocking as a test run and see how they do.
