So this brings us back to the idea that you should pay for health care as you go. Those that receive health care are those that can afford it or willing to pay for it out of pocket. No pay...no treatment.
The idea that there should be some cost involved in treatment has been around for a long time. It places a check on abuse and use. I think they call it copays.
Most of you guys are missing the big picture and that is that the uninsured end up on medicaid when serious illness strikes. Medeicaid = tax $$$.
So Geo you are paying tax now for medicaid, a tax earmarked for health care for low income including those with chronic illness that put them in the low income to begin with.
If you really want to improve health care you need to look at what is causing cost to be so high. Mainly just about everyone has access and uses the health care system and only a fraction are actually paying for it through insurance policies or the means to pay for it out of pocket.
No one wants socialized medicine.
So we have a mandate that you pay for health care, carry insurance or you just suffer with health problems. Three choices
