I'm with you Roadtoad, I've always wanted to ice fish. Closest I've ever come to ice fishing is when I had to throw rocks into a farm pond to break the ice in the center so I'd have somewhere to cast a jig.

Ice fishing is too dang cold ........I did a bit of it in Northern Indiana in my teenage years.

Sylvan, Chapman, Big Chapman, Jones, Waldron.....

I launched out of Holly Creek at Dale Hollow a couple of years ago when it was ZERO degrees with -13 wind chill and there was a ring around Holly Creek marina of ice that went about 6 feet out. Does this count as ice fishing? My buddy Chunknwind went to my number 1 honey hole and I had a Smallie that went 5-8 and he had one that went 5-4 3 cast later. Both fish froze to the Golden Rule and their fins were froze in a matter of seconds out of the water. If any of you remember the article about me in Bassmaster.com in January 2010, that fish I am holding was another that went 5 lbs and you can see the fins froze and how bundled up I was that morning because it was COLD
