That should be good news for Ohio River Fisherman. Those threadfin should help the predatory fish grow faster in the Ohio River.
That would explain why they are found in Hoveys too. The Ohio River feeds Hovey's and flooods over into Hoveys.
... Sorry fishNnut, but the fact is that when you can go there and catch a five fish limit of 30lbs in 8 hours (did it TWO weekends in a row) on a PUBLIC lake... that is NOT "one of many, many places", IT is a DIAMOND in a coal field!
Just my two cents...
Hogmonster, congrats on the two good bags. I misunderstood your meaning of "a trophy". Sorry.
Tell me how? Never said Boggs isn't a good lake. I would say it is, or was at one time, proabably the best lake in Indiana for bass fishing. There are not many Indiana lakes where you can take a 30 lb bag out two weekends in a row. But the midwest is a big area with lots of lakes. To say Boggs is the one lake where you have a legitimate chance at a trophy is putting it a lot higher than most people would.
By trophy, I thought he meant a single fish. Not a bag. Guess I was confused. Either way I think I am going to have to take my nephew up there one evening next week while I'm off anyhow. BTW, I also heard that it was getting drained, but I thought the time that was given had already passed. Maybe they changed their mind.
the time i was told has already passed...i hope they dont for awhile. id say its still good as of now.
