I like it, time to start holding the people in charge accountable. Hopefully we will see more of this type of action from the suits in Indianapolis!

So the NCAA ruled that any team who hires Bruce Pearl will have to argue to prevent the hiring university from serving a 3 year Show Cause penalty handed down to Pearl. Any university that hires any of his assistant coaches have to do the same against a 1 year penalty. I Love It!!! Finally, a coach can't quit or get fired then run away from the charges to another school. From what I know, Jim Tressel did worse so have a nice day Jimmy Boy. FIRM FAIR CONSISTENT!!!! Keep actions like going and eventually universities and coaches will get the message.

Too bad they ruled Lane Kiffin only committed "minor" violations and won't be penalized because that little worm needs to get taken down a notch for his actions during and after his weekend stay at UT
I don't understand why sometimes the coach gets the penalties and sometimes it's the school. I'd actually prefer the coach or other individuals who had knowledge be the ones that are punished, so maybe that's the way the NCAA is starting to go.
I think the NCAA is figuring out that punishing the schools and future teams, while coaches and players at fault bolted for other teams or becoming Pro's us not working. So if the coach gets busted, especially a high profile coach, some other college will give him a job because of his name. What does the coach have to lose that another Multi-million dollar contract from another school can't fix? The players, they will leave and go pro or transfer to another college to play. I think by punishing the University for lack of Institutional Control and the Coaches and Players individually is the way to go. It would be nice for the Professional leagues to back up the College game in that any penalty that a player or coach runs away from to the Pro game must still be served. This way, those that are so malicious in their breaking of rules to get an advantage to the point where YEARLY suspensions come into play, Pearl and Tressell, can't run to the next level to be an assistant or head coach without serving the suspension. This would go a long way in putting the FEAR into those breaking the rules
