Oh yes. Its a whole different splash when the bigger guys are on top. lol Even with those smaller ones, there may be some decent fish below them. If you can get a spoon or bucktail below the little guys you might get a keeper. You gotta make it look like scraps. The smarter ones will let the dumb little ones do all the work. I haven't tried it, but I bet that lipless gizz bait would be killer on those schooling fish if you can get it down below the little guys.

We had the same sort of deal when we were fishing in shore in FL. Only the "little guys" were spanish and the "bigger guys" were bulls. In this case, you wanted to avoid the bigger guys, and so did the spanish.. LOL

    Got it!

    buy one of these:
    http://store.castaicswimbait.com/cat...-4-6-inch.html

Then tie it on to the end of a Carolina rig, with a 2 foot leader and a 2 ounce egg sinker.

Result, long range cast with a bait that hits the water then swims down fast to get to the big guys.

Gotta admit, I like hitting the jumps even if little guys just to be catching something. But, I do still keep the live baits down 25-40 on downpoles hoping the jumps close to the boat bring the brutes.

With that endorsement.....I'll let ya know if it works.

I mean as screwed up a Striper fisherman as I am, how could I do worse.
