Question Big fish of the year so far...

Thought it would be interesting to see what everyones big fish of the year is so far, where it was caught, and what on.

I have yet to catch a big one this year over 5lbs...don't think it will happen before we move out West, but maybe. Biggest fish I have caughten this year was a 4.5lb at Barren this May, flipping a wacky in flooded trees.

As far as numbers this year, it has been spectacular! The NRL jumps have consistently put me on 20+ fish trips in just a few hours, many times a lot more than that.

So....2011 has been good for numbers so far for me, but the big girl has eluded (sp?) me so far.

Same here Rich, good numbers no big ones. Mine is a 4.3 but have had numbers of 3-4's pounders. My partner in a tourney in March had a 6.7#, [I] lost 2 Saturday night that I could barely budge but they tore off.... story of my fishing life I guess....

I with ya guys the numbers have been great this year. I'm mostly a smallie fisherman so my fish are rarely ever "big" but I do however like to do a little carpin' every now and then. I have no idea what the measurements were but here was my biggest. I got him at Doe Run Lake on sweet corn.

While we're on the subject i just thought i'd share...My 10 yr old sister caught the bass of a lifetime early this spring up in Ohio at a community park behind my parents house. She was using her pink zebco rod with a dancin' baby eel tied on. It just about pulled her into the lake haha. You can tell by the pic it was so big she didn't even want to hold it haha.

They all came in 3 days of fishing, a 5, 5 1/2, and a 6. The 6 paid me back though and hooked me with the treble hook, thrashed around when I was getting out of the net, went was past the barb, so most of my hand was stuck in the fishs' mouth one treble was on the fish the other was stuck to my wrist with the net in-between us. I guess it was bitter sweet my biggest bass came with a price. My buddy cut the hook and we released the fish after a few pics. Told my dad when needed to leave and have the hook cut out, he said just push it thru cause he wasnt done fishing ha ha typical of him. So after pushing it thru and quite a bit of blood we continued fishing.

probably had my "bestest" year ever....
6 lb 10 oz kentucky spotted bass on march 22, cumberland (on the wall now)

7 lb 15 oz smallie on april 15, cumberland, photographed , measured and released ( replica on the way, its a sin to kill smallmouth and you will burn in fire for all eternity !)

36 lb striper on july 2 cumberland river, photographed, weighed, measured and released.

3 lb 10 oz crappie march 13 cumberland, at the taxidermist as we speak, not the worlds biggest crappie i know, but my biggest.

2 largemouth within 30 minutes of each other one 6 lb 5 oz and one 7 lb even march 22 (same day as big spot) cumberland, both weighed, measured , photgraphed and released.

missus stripernut has one at the taxidermist as we speak ; a 5 lb 2 oz spot caught week before last.

i need a second job to pay the taxidermist off ! lol

A 5.3lb and 5.1lb largeheads out of private 27 acre lake. Too many 4lbs plus to mention from various locations, some largeheads and some smallmouth.

I have fished less this year than any year I can remember in recent past. I haven't even fished the river once this year, it makes me very sad...
