    Wake Boarding

Any of you boys been wake boarding? I have been a few times including yesterday and it's a lot of fun! Falling errrr.... I mean crashing kinda makes you sore but I guess the idea is to not do that so hopefully I learn not to so much of that.

Ohhh the ironic thing is that years ago (maybe months) I would gripe about the boats running around pulling folks for fun and now I have been one of them. I still feel for the fisherman working the banks and getting tossed around but hey it is what it is......public water

Never did the wake board thing....I rode a jet ski last summer though...that was fun, acting like a fool, jumping wakes and such. Just wasn't fun enough for me to go out and buy one.

    Tim,
I rode a jet ski myself a few years ago while on vaca at Marco island and i agree it was a lot of fun. Those dang things can cost more than a low end economy car! One bonus is they can be rigged up nice for fishing!!

    Re: Wake Boarding

I've been wakeboarding for the past 12 years...don't get to do it as much as I used to...been driving jet skis for the past 20 years (since I was 10). I also duck hunt on the lake. Spent all my childhood summers on a houseboat at Buzzard Rock Marina.

I guess I'm a well-rounded water sport enthusiast...on the water 12 months out of the year

I have a new appreciation for it. I am just learning but can see the addiction. I can't wait to jump the wake but for now I'll settle for just not falling as much. The recovery time for me is a little longer than some of the younger folks I go with.

I know exactly what you are talking about......nothing worse than catching an edge and being catapulted face first to the water. Feels about like hitting concrete! A hit like that usually ends my session now.

    Re: Wake Boarding

I hear ya fellas. One of the group fell hard and hit the back of his head. He came up from the fall and couldn't see for a split second so he prolly got knocked out from the back of the head hit he took.
So far my bad fall had my neck sore (which *****) but the amount of water that got shoved into my nose was the worst part. I still wanna go but I am cautious so as not to get hurt.
