Not a huge win but a W none the less, all that matters at the end of the day. There is a lot to improve on, but we have to remember this team is VERY young.

    GO CARDS 1-0

    Re: football is back!

I personally thought they looked pretty darn good in the first half. Second half was horrible. Seemed to be alot of confusion from the coaching staff getting plays into Stein, or whomever was the QB at the time. I DO NOT like using mulitiple QB's, never have never will. Bridgewater looked lost and that ball he threw was horribly underthrown. Freshmen jitters I suppose. Defense got tired in that heat in the second half, need game time playing to get in shape.

Like you say a win is a win and they sure looked better than that team from Lexington, shew that was just plain ugly....

    Re: football is back!

Looked pretty bad most of the game, with the exception of about a 12 minute stretch. Defense looked pretty good, I was really impressed by the new players in the secondary, they were thought to be a weak spot but played well last night.

Offensive line is killing us. How many false starts? I know they didn't give up many sacks, but how many hurries?

Was real dissapointed they didn't give Bridgewater more of a shot because he is going to have to play. Stein is already hurt, who knows how bad. He had both feet taped up, they were checking him out pretty heavy on the sideline late in the third quarter.

As anybody else glad that this is Chichester's last season? I have watched this kid drop passes the last three years and guess I will suffer through it one more season.

My favorite poart of the game was watching Davente Parker get his first collegiate touchdown in his very first game. Local kid was recruited by everybody and chose to stay home! I will say, we are absolutely loaded at wide reciever.

Tim lets keep in mind it was the frist game of the season and the first collegiate game for many on this team. I had reason to be encouraged. Bridgewater looked like a deer in the headlights to me. Yes he needs game time, but I didn't see the cocky swagger that usually comes with a five star guy, we'll see what he's made of. It may be trail by fire, lets hope not.
Defensive looked pretty solid, Heyman is gonna have a heck of a year. Loaded for sure at wide outs.

I've never liked Chichester, he reminds me of TO. He thinks he's alot better than he is and he won't stretch out or sacrifice the body to get a catch.

looks like a long season for both teams. I'm a huge UK fan but our game last night was pathetic. Glad we wasn't playing UofL because we would have started out 0-1.

UK is in BAD shape. Total punts - 7, Total completed passes - 7. 75 yards of total offense thru 3 quarters against a team that has not won since Carter was in office. I see a bunch of donuts in the SEC. when does Basketball start?

UK could be in for a very long season if they play that way again.

I can't see how you sports guru's are ready to throw in the towell off of ''ONE'' the ''FIRST'' game of the season. Is either team gonna be world beaters this year.....................that would be...''NO'', but come on guys they are gonna improve. Last nights game for the Cards reminded me bigtime of Petrino's first few upstart games with a bunch of Freshmen and that turned out pretty good even in his first year. I saw as much confusion by the coaching staff last night as I did the players. Growing pains, it will get better.

Strong got another commitment from a bigtime recruit yesterday to, Booyah...... He;s bringing the kids in boys, they are coming as so will the wins, be patient.

As for UK having a tough year, ..............Ya think? You lost Cobb and Locke, that was 60% of the dang offense, you don't replace that overnight. Put that with a brand new QB and freshmen and you got some issues.

UK needs a new Coach. This loyalty to Joker crap is a Joke. This is just something I have been saying and was brought up again last night as we watched those boys play. The program needs a new bloodline.
Look how the Florida coaching staff was gutted over the years. UK should have been looking for that kind of coach....someone from a real football program that wins and doesn't look at a sub par bowl game as an accomplishment but more as a disappointment of not playing for a BCS Title.
Of course I was almost tarred and feathered last night but I'm right and they knew it. The truth hurts.

I hear ya Don, but UK has about as much shot of getting a BSC bowl bid in the SEC as I do winning the Heisman this year. Their pockets at a ''BASKETBALL'' school aren't deep enough to compete in the SEC in football.

UK would be better served to join another conference, maybe the Big 12 or Big 10

I don't know enough about UK or their program and definatly know less about college ball then some of you guys but....Florida managed it pretty well? At times other schools did too.

UL has the seeds planted with Coaching staff with Pitino and Strong. I know it's a HUGE maybe for any program to win a bid to a BCS bowl (or championship) and have a team in the final four or championship game but just having the chance is what I would think a program like UK would want.

UK has no chance at all in their football program at getting anything but a standard bowl game tossed at them for meeting the winning percentage and I'm amazed that they seem to be happy with that by not going out to get a better coach who has roots in recruiting good solid players like Strong is for UL.
